I posted something, but upon second thought, firing any projectile in a public place is just irresponsible.

And then we see under-18 kids asking how come we wont let them near Airsoft guns. Your 'friends' are a prime example why.

I happen to have a clear mini mp5 from canadian tire and its rated at 170 fps and at that speed it has trouble ripping paper from 7 ft away. The m4a1 is rated at 150 fps so it really couldnt hurt anyone unless you shot them in the eye and even then it wouldnt be anything major (ive had a tennisball impact my eye before, internal bleeding, healed in 2 weeks, seeing red is fun).

Well when your under the required age to play airsoft, you got to start somewhere. Personally I think playing with those things in a park is bad idea because of the exposure. Oh and conrad, violence is not the solution to everything, if I broke his gun in half I would problably get beat up and have to pay for it. I can't bring him to an airsoft game because, I dont have an airsoft gun and im turning 16 in a couple of weeks, meaning ive never been to the field.
There isn't much I can do but encourage him to play out of the publics sight. If he would play reponsibly I wouldn't see the harm of those CT guns, thing is not everyone has a clue about safety. |

Tell him to set up a carboard box in his room/back yard and tape some paper over an open face, bbs dont litter every where, and you dont poke any ones eyes out.

Yeah, you start by showing some maturity and waiting until you turn 18.

Boy, the good ol' days of when you could point your finger and yell "REACH FOR THE SKY VARMENT!"
You know what I'm starting to see and sorta feel, ageist. Ever time I see a defense of CT crap guns or doing something stupid, I swear there is no Age Verified tag and when I click on profile to see how old they say there are, there is either nothing there or its underage!... But on topic with this, first the kid on the bike over-reacted to having "not really been shot at." So I am lead to beleive this "friend" WAS shooting at this other kid on the bike. Else why bike straight home to cry about being shot with a BB gun? Secondly I'm both highly annoyed and disturbed that this cop just laughed it off and played with them!... I mean my tax dollars are basically paying for him to play airsoft with CRAPPY TIRE guns at that whilst on duty? He shoulda shot them both, put the respect back into how guns should be treated properly no matter what their projectile is. The fact that he just shrugged it off aswell concerns me that what happens if this wasn't just a school yard game of clearsofting crap? What then? We get a couple teens shooting a cop? |

Aylmer is now part of Gatineau, across the river from Ottawa.
So he's using the excuse that since they cant play airsoft, they will go buy Canadian Tire guns and play in public areas? Wow, very mature. Combine? You and your friends basically guaranteed you wont play anywhere within 400km until you are 18. You are putting this sport under the eye of the law and the citizens by those actions, and you seem to think that playing anyway with anything is fine. It's not. So how about you show some of that very scarce maturity and 1) grow up yourself, 2) tell your buddies (that's the usual cop-out instead of saying you did it) that they are being Extremely Stupid. |

What the hell? why are you saying that im immature and shouldnt play airsoft? Im not the one who is playing with CT clearsoft at the park!
For crying out loud, I dont belieave he was shooting at the kid on the bike since he was shooting cans on the GROUND, his other friend who is a douche bag is a totall retard, he was attempting to start a small fire on the ground before the cops came. The same guy shoots his little crappy clearsoft mp5 inside the school for fucks sakes. My friend just wants to play "airsoft" (since im sure you guys don't consider CTguns airsoft) but this other retarded fellow is the only other person who owns a CT gun. I don't get how all the blame just shifted to me for asking for advice on how to get my friend to play safe out of the public eye. (By the way that post on the cop shooting them both is ridiculous, how does killing two teenages make you a better cop?) I have never touched an airsoft gun in my life and don't plan to until im 18 and able to play on the field. I am waiting responsibly and being mature about it all, I hope you guys misunderstood my posts, I am seriously confused on why you guys are bitching at me for being unsafe and risking airsofts endangered reputation. Next time I see him, I will tell him that I spoke to you guys and if ever he wishes to play real airsoft, he better get his act together and stop fucking around in the park. |

I agree violence is not the answer. but if you do break his gun in half like a twig...at leas t you'll save him from another cop coming by and maybe thinking its real and of course "shoot first, ask later", by breaking his gun now perhaps we wont ahve to read about "Local boy shot while using replica gun". We dont want negative media around airsoft.

I understand that, but he understands that airsoft is in danger and to play in public is dangerous. However, his other friend doesnt help much since he is retarded, and problably clouds his judgement and makes him play in the park. I will try as previously stated above, to get him to play away from the public eye preferably in the heavily wooded area around his new house that he will be moving to.

Then if they shot the retarded kid, it'd scare the not so much retarded kid into not playin airsoft in public, don't you think?
You didn't really what I said about these cops did you? I would have been much happier with SOMETHING having been done here. Instead the cops played around and gave them back their guns! Do you think that if I was missing a trigger lock on my .303 bolt action going from the house out to the hunting camp the officer would just give me a warm smile tell me there is a Crappy Tire up the road and tell me to stay out of trouble?! NO He would had taken my gun, or written me a fine, or SOMETHING! Not just piss away a dangerous act as nothing! What's to teach them any respect if the cops don't have any authority for it? Hmm? |

Buddy, your preaching to the quire here. The aylmer police have nothing to do since the worst crimes usuallycommited is either speeding or teenagers having a bush party. When my friend told me this I couldn't belieave how unprofessional that cop was and I said that he was friggen lucky to have gotten out of that so easy. Sadly, the cops bad decision has just made him think that since nothing went down, he can play in the park without concequence. I was just saying that a shooting is obviously not the awnser. Maybe my post sounded like a flame because I don't like it when people post in topics about airsoft mishaps with "Omg they should have been shot on the spot and hanged!!!"
