you can get a decent M4 in the states from KA, CA or G&P for $300, spend the other $300 on basic gear i.e better goggles, boots, and a decent vest+cheapo BDU(adds up to 300).
then play for 5-10 years and slowly pile up your armory. Then if you're amazingly good, MAYBE you will be able to get sponsorship in the states. but you don't seem to listen to the answers you don't like. |

On this forum, buying from Evike is equivelent to selling your soul to the devil, ten times over.
However in your case Evike MAYBE okay to buy from as you from the states. Now with that I'd start researching on their Customer service and overall review as a retailer. Good luck |

For that budget, I say Tokyo Marui SOPMOD with recoil engine, does what a PTW does and more, no cilinder change but... i can live with that.

You could always get some AEG springs and meld them together, you'd get super 1337 high FPS that way.

TM is known for being one of the best airsoft brands, only downside is that all their guns shoot at +-300 FPS, it can be upgraded and reinforced though, talk to your local airsoftsmith and read the thread I posted before, you can find some interesting mods, suggestions, and alternatives to batteries.
I own a SOCOM version, which is a regular M4A1 with no rails, 330FPS spring, guarder 6.02mm Tightbore, and Rhino lipo battery with XT60 connectors... sold almost all my guns. Best purchase I ever did |

Yes, yes they are very good. Would you mind sharing which team you are joining and which shop is sponsoring you? Just curious, and it would really help your situation seeing as you posted in the NEWBIE section that you're getting SPONSORED, buying off EVIKE and happen to know NOTHING about basic AEG's.
Just sayin'.

Tokyo Marui is the best for a starter gun, lasts a long time when left stock.
But if you want something really reliable, and really popular, wherein price isn't a problem, then nothing will beat a PTW. But if you want something significantly cheaper that's very comparable, buy a G&P and slap 350$ worth of internals in it. As long as you have a good gunsmith, it'll last tens of thousands of rounds no problem. |

Unless you can go into Evikes store I wouldn't order from them even if you are in the states. I hear from people in the US the best way to deal with them is fill your shopping cart with stuff you want, then print it off and go into the store and give them the list lol.
As for what gun to get...well what does the "sponsorship" include? Discounts from that local store? free gun to play on the team with? in any case go check out what they have in stock and pick of those. Or go to the field and play around with the teams guns and see what you like. my 2 cents

part of your decision should include looking at what AEG's your 'team' has..
magazine interchangability is a major thing if you're looking to go and play in high-level games (maybe you're not interested in this, maybe you are) basically in airsoft, find something that fits you, if it's your first gun then get a Marui, believe me it'll be the best thing you'll ever buy if you're not a 'have a go' type of guy when it comes to internals.. if you want *the best* get a PTW but bear in mind it'll cost you. better buy for you would be a marui and save money for something else.. the reason you buy marui first is down to the fact that a maui gun (when left stock/minor upgrades) will last forever and not break unless _you_ do something stupid. Highly upgraded guns die when _they_ do something stupid, and how smart do you think a lump of metal and plastic is? not very.. yes, i speak of AEG's as if they have a soul, everyone laughs at me except gundoc's, we know the score, seeing as how much of our soul ends up in our work (including blood/sweat and skin) they must have something, even if it's pure evil (demon gun, i'm lookign at you)
