www.recon-company.com and VAT

You guys were so helpful providing an opinion last time, was hoping you could help again

I'm looking to buy some stuff from the above stated seller and I was wondering if they are a reputable company. a lot of ppl just post this company as a source to buy stuff, but never post their opinion or experiences with them.

also, how does VAT work? do I get charged with VAT or not if i'm buying from them and shipping here to Canada?

Thanks in advance

VAT is only charged if you live in England, maybe the EU. You'll probably have to pay GST on the declared value once it arrives.

Your best bet is to email recon-company and ask them about VAT charges for oversea trades, that way you get both your questions answered in one swift move.

Even after having dealt with a few UK etailers, I'm not even sure if they should or shouldn't pass the VAT onto oversea customers, according to some sources, VAT is refunded for export outside the EU.

Edit
IANAL but it read like VAT shouldn't apply to exports outside the scope of EU, Canadian taxes on import will still apply, that is, if CP even bother charging you beyond the flat custom brokerage fee on oversea parcels.
