Problem with painting

winter sucks for painting inless youv got an indoor spray area that stays warm constantly

That could very well be it. The spray can (was full) was in the garage and it was freezing.

So....

-Sand off with 400+ grit sandpaper.
-Clean off with rubbing alcohol.
-Repaint+clear finish.
-Don't touch for a week.

well you should be able to handle with it once its dry but just dont put the gun back togther or bare use of it intill some time such as a week
just put it in a safe spot and leave it there for a week so it dosint get scratched or anything

then youl know that the paint is at its strongest and its resistence to chiping and all that good stuff is at its peck
its a good idea to get it back down to the plastic and as smoth as you can because once you shoot more paint over it youl see all your missed spots fairly easy

iv done alot of model painting and such so iv had my bad experiences with the cold and how it likes to crack things up plus bad experiences of airbrushing alot of detail on a model and finding out in the end that i thined the paint to much so the paint could just rub off after its dry like its powder

If its plastic, try the Krylon camo series. It used to be a standard paint but has been switched to the "Fusion" line so has a solvent that physically bonds it to plastic. I painted the plastic furniture on my motorcycle with it, 3 coats over the course of 2 hours on a summer day, and it didn't scratch when I dropped the bike (its an enduro, dropped it off road, motorcycle enthusiasts please don't kill me.)

Oh yeah, and the Krylon is super flat. I have not found a single "matte" clearcoat that doesn't ADD a shine to the Krylon camo series.
