mp5 screw

i took my echo 1 mp5a5 apart to redo the gear box. and after putting it back together i was left with a screw and i have no clue where it goes. i took my mp5 apart and put it back together twice and i still cant figure out where it goes. so here is a pic of it beside a penny i know its hard to pic where a screw goes but its a try.

That looks like one of the grip plate screws which is about the same size as one of the long mechbox screws, only with a coarser thread because it's meant to screw into plastic instead of tapped metal. Are you sure you didn't forget to put one of the screws in the mechbox, and maybe installed one of the grip screws into the mechbox by mistake?

But by the threading, it looks like it screws into plastic. Perhaps one of the 2 screws holding the body shells together?

its not a mechbox screw or a grip plate screw, i'll have to check and see if i missed one that holds the body together.

Well I think we can rule out the front screw on that diagram. It screws into a nut so the thread is different. This is definitely a screw that screws into plastic by seeing that thread. And without that front screw, the cocking tube would fall off the body. If it's a body screw, it's one of the 2 others that hold the shell halves together.

ah there are two screws there eh. one holds the body together (2) and the one you mentioned that screws into a nut (1).
