ICS Delta Ring compatibility
Hello guys
I have an ICS M4 Pistol undergoing significant modification, including the instalation of a D-Boys RIS unit. However, since my gun came without a Delta Ring, I have to get one. Does anyone know if the D-Boys Delta Ring is compatible, or should I look into another brand. Getting an ICS one will take me at least 2 weeks. Thanks |

I think the ICS one has different threading than other aftermarket Drings.. I noticed this when I tried some from my parts bin.. Best suggestion is to try out the dboys and see how it goes on..

It's a 04-05 M4. I have a new ICS cqb coming next week. I can try the delta rings I have on it when it shows up.

I had troubles installing a KA RIS on an ICS.
Weird thing is that the Troy RIS fitted perfectly on the same ICS. |

I had a King Arms MRE with the 1-piece outer barrel package on a 2006 M4 (The one with the steel bushings, Colt trades and Turbo 3000 motor) and it all fit no problem at all. The hop-up tabs on the sides needed to be filed down a bit to allow free movement in the the KA outer barrel.
The Metal Tech RAS on my Systema M16A3 PTW would not fit an ICS gun without mods to the receiver threads either. Nor would a King Arms barrel nut fit on the ICS gun either. Wierd, eh?

I think that some are made taper to reduce the play. Maybe the ICS treads are also taper and both together don't work well... |

Personally, I think the tolerances on the ICS guns is a little looser than "mil-spec", and add to that the surface finish and it's enough to throw it out. I used a thread file and gave it a quick "once-over" and all was fine. I didn't notice any tapering to the threads, not like NPT for example.

I had no trouble installing a KA RAS on my ICS and my upper is first gen or something, its really old. I swapped it out for a Madbull Noveske RAS just today. Threading didn't match at all so I put her in a clamp and forced it with my 250lbs of Asian might. Shes now on, straight, and never coming off even if I want to.

i used to have an older ics, i think 2005 or older, and im sure it had imperial thread, so when i tried to put on a Mod 0 spr front the metric threads didnt fit,
a fix if you want to do is buy a Madbull threads changer die kit (from airsoftparts.ca) and change ur thread to metric and should fit most airsoft stuff on it. Then you can sell it to me caz ill need one for my PTW |
