Looking for a tight bore barrel (TM M14 Socom)

I ordered a TM M14 Socom from Redwolf along with the level 3 basic upgrade for the gearbox from q armory which includes (this is copy and pasted from the site):

Prometheus spring
Steel bushings
G&P Middle Gear (Super Torque Up)
Systema Steel Gears
G&P Steel Spring Guide
Fuse Removal
Custom gearbox work to ensure smooth operation

I've heard varying opinions on q armory's work however that isn't the point of this topic. They didn't install a tight bore barrel and I'm interested in getting one. However, the ones on RedWolf (you can suggest a different site, thats just that one I bought the gun from, they didn't ship me my black flash hider so I ordered one from dentrinity so I'm familiar with them as well) are all the same diameter but have a millimeter measurement at the end. What is that about? For example:

"PDI 01 6.01mm Precision Inner Barrel (560mm) for Marui M14 "
"PDI 01 6.01mm Precision Inner Barrel (500mm) for Marui M14 "
"PDI 01 6.01mm Precision Inner Barrel (450mm) for Marui M14 "

Also, since that says just "Marui M14" will it fit in my Socom since the barrel is much shorter? How hard are these to put in since this would be my first work an on AEG.

Thanks

I dont have an answer for your question, but this is an important thing to note.

If you are living in canada, you can't order any restricted items from redwolf, IE the TM M14

Socom length is 450mm. Anything longer, you'll need to cover it up with a silincer. I have a Prometheus 6.03 along with a few other upgrades that bring me to 398fps. Real naildriver.

Ya, Prom. 6.03 FTW. You can never go wrong with it. I have heard nothing but good from their products. Besides, it has been conclusively proven that the 6.01 barrels only provide an increase in fps, not accuracy. There was a thread on here not too long ago about that very topic.

That would be the length measurement.

I live in america, so I don't have any restrictions like that however, I do have those stupid orange tips and I was somewhat perturbed that RedWolf didn't send me the original flash hider like they said they were going to. Meaning I had to fork out 20 more dollars to get one. How is the install on new barrels and def get a 6.03 barrel? As opposed to a 6.01 or 6.02 (if there is such a thing?)

6.03 is better than 6.01 in terms of accuracy. It's basically been proven

Can anyone give me a link to a Prometheus 450mm 6.03mm barrel for a marui m14 socom? I can't find any when I try to google it or look in shops I've heard of before.

Are we sure about the length of the inner barrel? I see a lot of these...

Why don't you just take it apart and measure the inner barrel length to be sure?

The worst thing that will happen is that you have to put it back together while you order and wait for the barrel to arrive.

On some rifles...the inner barrel doesn't always go to the end of the outer barrel...and sometimes there's a step/collar inside the inner barrel that won't allow a slightly longer inner barrel to fit.

I believe Mason from DOW has a TM M14 socom with an extended barrel and silencer to cover it up.

The horribly engrished manual that it came with has instructions for stripping it down but, I'm a little bit afraid to do that for fear of messing it up. Any guides out there?

Follow the pictures or take it to a gun doc? Also, you should have just ordered your barrel from Redwolf to begin with.

If you feel inclined enough to do it, follow this instructional video: http://www.mechbox.com/m14/m14-disassembly-agm
