It uses a mini in the handguard. It may fit a mini-nunchuck but those have poor discharge rates and I wouldn't recommend them, especially if you upgrade the mechbox. 8.4V will be more than enough unless you're going for a high ROF setup.

I'd say around 15 RPS stock but someone who has one can get you a more precise number.

If you get the CA M15A4 Tactical Carbine, you get the M4 carbine barrel with a full stock that can handle a large battery. It's a pretty good compromise I think. And with a large type 8.4V 3300 mah NiMH you can go forever. I put 2000 rounds over a period of 10 hours and didn't even scratch the surface of the capacity of that battery, and mine is modded to fire 380fps.

Mini type batteries are a pain, especially with the recent CA Armalites. One of the big criticisms of the early CA Armalites was the spring loaded ring (has a proper name but I can't remember what it is and I'm too lazy to look it up) holding the front grips on was very loose, so in the A4 model CA went all to hell with it and made it *really* strong. Without a proper Armalite take-down tool it's very difficult to get the front grips off. Makes changing the battery in the field pretty much impossible.
