Red Gas importing and questions....
I am looking to buy some red gas for my WA Shan Beretta M1934. It comes with a Co2 mag so I know that it can handle the extra pressure. Its only getting 220 fps with green and the Co2 mag uses a threaded co2 cannister which sticks out the bottom of the mag.
I saw this at Redwolf http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...il?prodID=8706 I was wondering if this would be a problem to import or if anyone could offer any info regarding this gases effectiveness, ie fps gains that I should expect? |

OK, so from what I can gather green propane is 100psi and red is 121psi (at 21 celsius. So I would imagine that I would reieve a 21% increase in fps and blowback ove propane use? 40fps more would be great, but now the question is how to get this imported.
Does anyone know how to obtain red gas in Canada? |

An alternative you could try is attempting to use a highflow valve on your mag, that may boost your FPS as little.

Unless there's some new formulation to it "red gas" was HFC-22, which AFAIK is now a "banned" gas. You might have trouble importing because of that.
Looking at pics of how the 12gr CO2 canister "installs" (for lack of a better term -- that's f'n ghetto) it seems to be venting CO2 directly into a regular mag? Or is there extra modifications being done to the mag (like a pipe, to bypass gas sitting in the reservoir)? Because if the reservoir can actually handle CO2 pressure like that, I'd instead suggest getting one of those Madbull CO2 adapters and just filling the reservoir up with CO2. Best of both worlds.

WOW! I just took out my mags valve out and removed two of the four "posts" on the valve to increase the gas flow. It began as stock 219 fps (5 shot avg) and after the mod it now shoots a very respectable 252 fps (5 shot avg). Theres still plenty of gas left over for 2 full mags of bb's. I'd still like some red gas if anyone knows how to safely get it but im now much happier with this cool little gun!

Black gas is CO2

Yup... if I remember correctly, C02 is much higher pressure than red gas...
Red gas will give you a reduction in FPS. |

Black gas is not Co2, here is a link to a gas comparison chart;
http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthr...hlight=red+gas Red gas would not give me a reduction in fps because im not using the Co2 mag (I hate the way it looks) I am only going to be using the green gas mag, so red gas would be great or even black gas, but where to find either is the problem??? |

Dunno where that chart is from... while it's generally right, Black Gas has always traditionally referred to CO2.
And propylene (AKA propene) is C3H6, not.. whatever is listed in that chart. Not to mention propylene is a hazmat (asphyxiant), so I doubt anyone would be playing with it (nor have I ever heard of any instances of that occuring). The old ASZ boards had some debates about what Red Gas actually was, just as some folks argued not all green gases were the same, but not so for Black.
