warming up your aeg

Iv heard that aegs break during the winter because the brittle metal gets more fragile with the lower temperature. has anyone considered slapping one of these on their gun, http://www.drugstore.com/qxp138543_3...le_patches.htm and wrapping it in something, like a small towel to protect it?
just an idea :P

Yes, though your battery might fail due to low temperature before your mechbox sustains any damage. You'll want to keep them warm, too.

use a V3/6 and you have no worries. I've used the hand warming pads on my battery with good results. Never had a large die in the winter and never used a heater.

I switched from 1700Mah to 4200Mah NiMh and never had a problem since. Also, don't use anything over 350FPS if you are running V2 box and try not to fire in FA a lot.

Lol, "Don't use a V2 like a normal AEG, and you should be fine!"

not just fake airsoft guns, but real steel plastic guns explode in winter too lol
the gun is typically good to -5 degrees, just don't go nuts with the full auto

I have a jacket I built out of a nylon holster that holds a couple of hotshots on either side of my lower.

I also have just enough room to stuff a couple in with my batteries in my foregrip.

Played in DAMN cold conditions and never had an issue with performance. Without that rig I find some degradation in batter power and runtime.

No way to prove the mecbox was affected by the pads at all other than it didn't crack, but that doesn't mean it was the heat that saved it.

Think is it could be more damage when you put metal in different temerature! So have it those pad on your AEG than go back in cold in few second would be more trouble than let it be in cold temperature!
