Some "community" this is.

BTW for future referance a "Contract" is law yargon for the act of buying, selling, or trading anything. It is an agreement between two parties to the transaction of benefits (things).

Though I may be close to the thin ice, I don't see how this is such a problem as I (technically my parents through the contract with Canadian Tire) already own 3 airsoft guns and 1 pellet rifle.
You need to realise, those people who are respecting you, are out to make money. They are sales people, their respective company won't let them be mean to customers. The people here bitching you out, they aren't trying to sell you something. They wouldn't dare think about selling you something. You are not old enough. The law dictates anyone under 18 cannot even touch airsoft guns (well, i assume that is what they mean by not allowed to own one, hard to touch one if you can't own it). With the state of Airsoft, all it'll take is some dimwitted kid to get himself shot carrying a replica M16 through the woods to get the whole sport seriously looked at by a bunch of politians, then by worrying soccer moms, then it'll be banned. People are very portective of their sport.
Now you seem like a good mostly matured kid, but just man up and wait it out.

Those people are there to make money. Chances are, they've never even read the damn pellet gun's box.

Well, it may seem shitty to you, but that's because you're too young to be here in the first place.

It's like going to a bar , and trying to order something. You'll get a "fork off" from the bar-tend. Can you Guess why? ... Let me give you a hint... it's the same reason you're not getting any respect here.

By the way, for future REFERENCE... read the FAQ about AGE. Respect the law.

Nice, y'know what that means, bud? It means you're already breaking the rules.

You always have the option to leave quietly if you're not happy with our self-regulation. Nobody is forcing you to be here. If you don't like it, the door's over there - don't let it hit your ass on the way out.

Your second option is to man up, admit that you're talking shit and you don't know the law and how it applies to you with regards to airsoft guns (and yes, there are people here who are actual lawyers who can tell you, not just spew bullshit) and do things the way the rest of the community does. This ensures goodwill between yourself (the outsider) and the people who you would like answers from and would, in the future when you're mature enough, be hosting the games you would probably enjoy attending (the community - that's us).

The third option is to continue to ignore the advice you're given, piss off the community, get yourself ostracized within the community, and sit at home posing and looking at your guns in the mirror, 'cause nobody is gonna let you play in their organized games if you're arrogant, self-centered, deceitful, egotistical fuckwit with a few dollars and an attitude who thinks this community owes them something.

Firstly, let me preface this by saying I'm old enough to be your dad. I own a real-steel AR15. Sure, I could hand it to my just-turned-18-year-old son and say "have fun, kid" and go back to renovating my basement. That doesn't make it ethically, morally, or legally acceptable. Just because you've done something already (or your parent's don't know something) doesn't make it right, or legal.

By allowing you (a child) to play around with an air rifle or airsoft gun unsupervised, your parents are breaking the law in just about every municipality in Canada.

Period.

Full stop.

End of sentence.

There's no other way to say it, son. They are breaking the law - whether you like the law, or whether they've broken it unwittingly in the past is irrelevant. When you break the laws, you put the hobby that the rest of us enjoy in jeapordy.

Seriously, son. Give your head a shake. You come into OUR house, demand WE answer your questions, tell us OUR rules are stupid, and get pissed off at us because WE try and steer you in the right direction and get frustrated when you won't listen?

Is there any wonder why people are getting so hostile towards you? You bring it on yourself whenever you open your mouth before you engage your brain....

Respect here is earned through both deeds and words, not post count. So far, you haven't earned squat, so the community owes you nothing.

Consider this to be an opportunity to change your way of thinking. There are people leaving doors open to you here, but you're so intent on doing things your own way that you're closing them just as quickly...

Were not trying to be a bunch of assholes here. Where just trying to help you out man. Seriously, Having you parents buy airsoft guns for you is just setting, you, your parents, and even us up for a bad situation. May not, could, might, shouldn't, it doesn't matter. Truthfully we hope for everyones sake that you wait till your 18. It will save all of us a huge problem. No one is here to point fingers at you and do our best to make things living hell. All that has been said is please wait till your 18.

As Skruface said, it is ILLEGAL to have you parents buy airsoft guns for you. All it takes is a phone call from a neighbour and the red surge will be knocking on your door. You can even go read all over this site about stuff that has happened in regards to breaches of the law with airsoft. It's giving us a bad rep.

So please do yourself a favor and wait.

most of us have the feeling of anxiousness when they're about to turn 18 then they can get their own airsoft. most of us waited for the special day. many of us read reviews, started saving up, read faqs, rules, age-verification process while earning respect and showing maturity on the board prior to them turning 18. Doing so won't waste you any time.

First of all I will thank ToTaL_oWnAgE for at least being polite about it.

Secondly, I admit that I was trying to find loopholes in the law of purchasing an airsoft gun. But I was not trying to do so in order to disrupt the legal state of your hobby, or in anyway give you guys a bad rep.

Lastly, I will take the advice given to me, and wait untill I am 18 before I take part in purchasing anything from this site.
