G&G Toptech 416 gearbox into a VFC 416 body
As the title implies I am wondering if I would face alot of issues if I took my TR4-18's gearbox ( with blowback) and fit it into the upper and lower receiver of a VFC 416.
I know the G&G gearboxs are said to be a bit chunkier but I would like to hear more opinions. What kind of issues would I run into ? I like the VFC externals and ofc the markings make it alot more appealing. |

I wouldn't put a G&G pneumatic blowback gearbox in anything except a proper G&G body.
Don't even know if it would fit in anything else. |

Curious where you got a VFC 416 body with no gearbox?

The gearbox will not fit without heavy modification. I fitted my gearbox into a King Arms M4 metal body because of the trades.
I had to grind off several parts on the gearbox and modify part of the upper to fit the spring release lever. I also completely removed the blowback system because it wouldn't work with the upper, and also because I didn't want that feature. All I wanted was the forward assist knob spring release feature that G&G Top Techs have. In the end it didn't work out too well either. Long story short, the gearbox will not fit. If you decide to modify parts, don't. It will save you a lot of time and headache. |
