G&G CCM16 SR short or long ?
Hey does anyone know the difference in range & accuracy between the the G&G srs series with different length barrels ,.. Myself personally I like the shorty ,.I understand its not going to be a range dmr ,..but is it useable outdoors ? , Im upgrading from an old standard cm16 that does fine .. I thought I had read somewhere that the longest one pushes a little further ,..but the other 2 are about the same ?

Range and accuracy doesnt really have anything to with the length of your barrel. The quality of the barrel might have a bit of bearing but your hop up and BB's are going to have the most effect on your range and accuracy.
A properly set up and optimized hop up will put the right amount of evenly applied back spin to your BB which would allow you to reach out to ranges of 200+ feet easily. If you plan on installing a flat hop or an R hop you can increase your effective range even further. You'll want to use heavier weight BB's as well to get the most accuracy at ranges of 200+ feet as the heavier BB's are less affected outside elements. I would recommend using at least 0.28g BB's for outdoors. What it really comes down to is what you think looks better and what would suit your play style better. If you prefer a shorter rifle, then go with the shorter variant. Hope this helps! |

Not really any difference other than how it feels/looks for you.

when i first got into the hobby, partly because it is so much cheaper then it was 15years ago when all i could afford were spring pistols, my buddy saw the G&G raiders on sale so grabed three batteries, 1 smart charger, and three cm16 raiders (one short DST and two long BLK + DST) all of it new for $500 after tax&shipping...i shoulda done the same since its growing here and i could easily sell one to a friend atm. But all 3 fire the EXACT same..i was so impressed with that sort of consistency, thinkin it sorta says a little about G&G...and so i got the cm16 carbine and it is on par shot per shot with with his...so if you can get a cm16 for under 200 its a great intro to the hobby..
i know he shoots .25s if its not windy, but this year he says he is going to start using .28 as an aeg minimum and save the .25s for his side arm, its a tm of sorts so has low fps. just noticed this is about the srs not raider, oh well the raiders have same rang long or short..
