What's the best M4/M16 for me?
Hi, I am just wondering what's the best brand below 350$?
And what's the difference between a m4 and a m16? just the look or the m16 shoot longer? |

Uh oh, not this thread again..
Check the FAQ man. This thread has been made so many times I can't put a number to it. Regarding difference, the M16 has a longer barrel and generally speaking, a fixed stock rather than an adjustable one.

AR15: the original .223/5.56mm design, of which the M16 and M4 are based on. Early AR15s were select-fire capable (full and semi-auto), but these days AR15s are almost always semi-auto only.
M16: the military's designation of the AR15, which they adopted in 1963-64. Followed by the M16A1, M16A2, M16A3, and M16A4. These are all select-fire cable. M4: a carbine (short-barreled) version of the AR15/M16. First adopted in the 1990s. Also select-fire capable. GBB or AEG ? |

There was Whitby Airsoft, but they got shut down due to zoning and haven't found a secure relocation spot as far as I know.

Generally speaking, a longer barrel won't affect the range of an airsoft gun as much as several other factors. The difference in barrel length between and M4 and M16 is not a big contributor to range in airsoft.
So yeah, the practical differences between an M4 and M16 in airsoft is only cosmetic. |

M16's are rather large and as Firestorm said the diffrence is mostly cosmetic, However since most M16 stocks are rather large you can carry a larger battery than inside most M4 stock tubes (more space in a m16 stock). Not such a big deal now but with lipo battery's
However personally I like the feel of the m16 over the m4 for me as I have rather long arms, But again as a first gun I would recommend The VFC M4's Last edited by _Whiskey_; March 3rd, 2015 at 14:18.. |
