mods to make kenwood ptts fit baofeng uv-5r better
so i got a nice set of ztac kenwood ptts( better than the motorola crap id say) but im hittin a problem. it doesn't like to stay in the baofeng uv-5r's kenwood ptt slot. I have to squeeze the ptt and the radio together tightly in order for the connection to be solid( no muffled sound, ptt actually functioning etc). is there any mods i can attempt to possibly solve this problem?

Try trimming some material from around the base of the pins, to let the pins slide in a bit more. I had to do this with a Kenwood-style plug for a UV5R before.

Pin too narrow or spring tab inside compressed? Does it work better with a different Kenwood-style plug?

Are you sure it's a Kenwood?
There are multiple types of 2 pin plugs.
