Installing keymod handguard on PTS RM4 Scout.

Hi, has anyone been able to remove the delta ring from their KWA PTS RM4 Scout?

I want to install a URX Style keymod handguard but the original delta ring won't come off. I've tried using a KING ARMS AR Wrench but it just won't budge!

Have you tried heating it up with a heatgun or blow dryer first?

Most likely glued on.

I have a heat gun yes. How long do you think I should blow it?

Until you can remove it of course!

Hmm, I never used one to remove mine, so I can't give you a proper answer. I would say 5-10 seconds. If still not budging, apply more heat at your own risk.

I recall my KWA LM4 when i first started airsoft giving me problems aswell - I got fed up and removed the upper, boiled a ton of water, and drowned it for a few minutes, got all that glue off.

Course I had to replace the hop-up and chamber and inner anyways :P.

I had a stubborn vfc delta ring. AR vice + real AR wrench + propane torch, nothing less than that would work.

Just use a heat gun.

There is no glue or thread locker on the delta ring threads.

They are just torqued on tight. The bigger issue is that often the paint on the receiver is not fully cure when the delta ring is installed. The receiver paint often cures onto the ring threads bonding it to the receiver.

PTS ERG RM4 delta rings are not that tight and very easy to remove with a proper AR15 armorer's wrench.

Alright, so after blowing on the delta ring a couple of times with my heat gun I finally managed to get it off. The bad news now is that the new hand guard won't exactly fit because the front wired fuse compartment is in the way. Any suggestions? Should I just bypass the fuse? If so, what's the proper way to do so?
