New to Canada airsoft

Hi all, just a few queeries I am hopping you guys can help me with. first a Little about myself. I am currently in Northern Ireland awaiting my visa to move over to your fair shores with my better half, although not new to airsoft which I have been active in since 1996 I am new to airsoft in Canada so would be great if you guys could keep me on track.

so from what reading I have done so far my understanding is:

1/ I cannot bring my Rif's into the country with me, aeg's, gbb's etc all have to be purchased from a retailer inside Canada?

2/ I can bring gear in like electronic sights, IR lasers/markers, NVGS, load bearing gear, combats, helmets etc?

3/ Age verification, is this as simple as going to someone who is authorised to verify me and produce valid ID that i am over 18?

4/ Eye protection, We have lower fps limit here of 328 with .20's ( 407 is the limit in Canada ?)and I have always prefared using mesh due to being of the large, sweaty and generaly unfit breed of human so do any skirmish sites frown upon or ban the use of mesh? and as a side note is face protection manditory along with eye?

5/ Seasonal. Although we are aiming for the greater Toronto area that is not set in stone yet, but i would immagine unless the weather is extreme ( like last xmas period) do skirmish sites that are in the south close over the winter?

If I have got something completely wrong please feel free to critique the above and any other advice is most welcome

it's easier to buy again here. It IS possible to bring your guns over, but because your 1J limit, you'd need to upgrade to above 1.24J and have paperwork to prove it. You may have local laws in ireland preventing that from happening due to firearms laws or whatnot. So it would be easier to sell your guns and start over. Keep all the accessories though.

2:

everything that isn't a gun is permissible.

3:

if your google fu is good, you can find stores out there, most of them are retail stores with e-commerce sites and a physical store somewhere in the country. However there are some advantages to getting verified such as access to the used market here, access to game signups and such here.

4:

Mesh is one of those risky things. 1.48J and 2.3J bolt action sniper limits is definitely higher, and even most safety glasses/shooting glasses really aren't safe enough to be used for airsoft. It's been observed that certain BB brands will break up on impact and penetrate mesh, other BBs have been known to go right through. Most here will advise some sort of military grade eyewear, either full sealing goggles in most places or eye shields. You can try some of the nicer paintball masks with thermal lenses, they're known to not fog as much.

the GTA has a variety of outdoor fields. There is also an indoor facility that operates year round. I think all the outdoor fields close for winter usually when snow hits and open up again when the snows melted.. then it's muck for a few weeks before it dries out.

Thanks for the feedback folks, I do have a selection of glasses like ess for example i just prefare the mesh...although the climate in Canada might be a bit friendlier because lets face it here in Ireland we get all seasons in one day no matter the time of year lol.

I immagined that selling my guns here and buying again once landed would be the better option thanks.

another question, I am more into the Milsim style of play and was wondering if it is popular, if so do you use personal radios? we are limited in the radio freq we can use in the UK so we use pmr 446 like motorola xtn's no point bringing it with me if i cannot use it.

for radios, the frs/grms frequencies are clear to use. Outside of that requires a radio license of some sort.

You can use it. Generally laws here limit frequency strength within a certain type of signal, like UHF. I wouldn't really worry about it to be honest. Each municipality may have its own by-laws, and each province definitely does. The weather here is likely comparable to Ireland or slightly worse or better depending on where you are. Welcome to Canada.
