Make Your Own PMags For PTW
Here is a top view of the mags once they are finished.
Top one is clearly NOT for PTW, unless you like 3200 fps.

For these mags, I used FDE Magpul Gen 2 (now called MOE) as they are cheap and easy to get. Each one cost me $23 plus $5 for the ranger plate.

Unfortunately, if you buy these mags in Canada, they will be pinned to correspond to our 5-round mag limit legislation. The rivet needs to be removed and as you are removing the feed lips from the mags, they will no longer be magazines as they can no longer hold nor feed rounds into any firearm.
It also helps if you enlarge the slot for the bolt stop.

These are all the tools you will need. A rotary tool, a cut-off disc and a fine grinding bit.

There is a mold seam along the top of the mag at the feed lips. It is right above the calibre symbol and runs the full length of the mag. Cut along the seam, both sides, front to back.

Use the grinding bit to remove the internal material necessary to accomodate the mag fingers and their cover. This is the only internal material to be removed. Chamfer the left side of the mag shell to allow for smooth insertion over the mag catch.

Remove the endplate lock from the mag spring, and grind away the material that grabs the spring.

Grind away just a bit of the rear lug on the mag shell. Basically, about 1/8", just enough to allow easy insertion of the guts into the shell. Not too easy though, a little friction is OK.

Add a little tape or self-adhesive foam or similar to keep the guts sitting centered in the shell.

Use a piece of closed-cell foam to provide tension on the endplate lock. Assemble the endplate of your choice. Your mag is now complete.
Once you do the first one or two, it gets real easy. I did 8 in about an hour. The mags seat fine in most lowers, including the dreaded FCC. No pins, set screws or cutouts for the finger plate.
