DD Mk18 Rail Install onto G&P AEG questions

Hey guys I'm in the process of getting a Madbull Daniel Defense Mk18 9.5inch rail. I took a look at the installation and it looks like is a special tool in order to attach the barrel nut. Do I need the specific DD tool or are there alternative tools that I could use.

Also I have read somewhere that there are issues with installing Madbull DD rails onto a G&P AEG body and I would like to see if that is true. I have installed a KA CASV rail on it and I currently have a G&P URX rail on it if that information is useful.

Thanks in advance

I did a DD rail conversion on my G&P and had to get a different barrel nut for it.

Here it is...

As for the wrench, it is not included. You can either get the Madbull one, or the SPEED one (fully adjustable for any sized barrel nut or buffer tube nut)

The G&P metal bodies I've had where usally RS threaded, although a bit snug. I was able to fit RS-threaded barrel nuts although it seemed to bind a bit, but with a bit of force it did fit.

I currently have WE GBBRs which are also RS threaded and I have a DD rail on that. So I can infer it should fit on the G&P.

For the wrench, if you have an AR15 armorer's wrench you can use the spanner wrench (for the castle nut on the stock) on the DD barrel nut.

If you need to get the DD wrench you can get it in Canada from Airsoft Parts if you want to avoid overseas shipping

Throwing it out there and high jacking this thread. Is it just me or does the DD rail not perfectly allign?

It rises up a tad and or isn't straight. Aka "flush".

Using VFC upper.

There is no fix for something like that unless you feel like doing some heavy machine work.
It's a problem for real steel as well, if that makes you feel any better.

It's about 0.5mm higher compared to the WE receiver, too

Ah well, what can you do. Already installed on mine. Need to give it a nice outdoor run sometime.

Drake was your G&P body for an AEG? I currently have a URX rail on it and the barrel ring(?) that attaches the rail to the reciever worked on an SRC upper as well and I'm pretty sure that the SRC upp is not RS threaded
