Echo 1 XCR-L Motor problem

Hey so i have a XCR-L (Poly) and i was putting the gun back together and the motor(stock) isn't not fitting correctly it will go in but it wont spring up or down and sometimes when i think i get it and i test it the motor just makes the spinning noise but it wont move the gears. i tried moving the wires and everything. thanks!

Silly question is your spring at the top of the motor missing. Cause your issue is motor height.
