LCT AKs - real-steel gas tubes?
I'm attempting a project which involves getting a Saiga sporter-style gas tube (without handguard retainers).
Does anybody know if the LCT AK is compatible with real-steel gas tubes? Thanks! |

I believe LCT is similar to the newer gen Cyma's? Similar to VFC?
If so, fairly easy to do.

For once I can give you some advice Stealth lol
It probably won't be a direct drop in. Real steel gas tubes have an "elongation" at the bottom back of the gas tube that fits into the rear sight block. It's an elongation that fits into a notch in the sight block to help hold it in place. LCT's don't have this (to my knowledge), so you'll need to grind it off of the gas tube to fit. Further to this, you might need to grind a bit of metal off of the sides of the gas tube that fits into the sight block or add a bit of metal. Gas tubes vary in size depending on the maker because real steel rear sight blocks vary too. Russian made parts are different from Romanian which are different from Yugoslavian, etc. I have NO idea what make LCT based their construction demensions off of, but hopefully it's Russian since Saiga products are made in Russia. In short, it's not hard to do and will work, but you might need to grind metal or add a bit of epoxy. Hope that helps |
