FCU placement

Currently I have my FCU for my P* in my stock but, it's a bit of a pain to get at it when I need to adjust it.
Would like to keep it in my stock with a better way to get at it. Magpul has a stock with a little compartment in it that some guys have put the FCU in.
Have any of you done this?
And I don't care if you hate P*'s just looking for some idea's.

UBR stock, but you need slack for the stock to still be retractable
Smarter idea I've seen is to put the FCU in the pistol grip with slack wire.
If you mod a GBBR style MOE grip to fit an AEG (I think you just need to make the 4 holes), it's got an easily removable end plate for quick access.

UBR's look better without the stock compartment, but it's totally doable.

That's a good idea with the pistol grip I would just need the rear airline elbow to run it out the back.

You cannot mod a GBBR grip to fit an AEG or P*. It's 1/4" smaller (narrow).

But you can still install it in the pistol grip. You would only have to remove the two small screws.

If you want to install it in an UBR in the lower compartment, you need to cut and lengthen the wires to it.

ah damnit that's right. I forgot about the width difference!

Now getting a bit deeper into the mod, you can run both the air line AND FCU into the grip. But you have to move the air line over.
Since there's really nothing in the way and you don't have to worry about a motor, you can groove the normal motor hole further in both directions, and same on the mechbox end. It's a bit more difficult with the P* since it's nearly a solid chunk of aluminum down there but it's definitely doable.

Running it to the UBR stock compartment would be easier though lol

Any advice for extending the FCU wires? Solder, heat shrink and be done with it?

Yeah pretty much.
Be careful not to induce too much heat if you're soldering close to the board though.
