Hello everyone

I am currently in the market for a new GBBP. I currently have my eye on the KJW P226. I've researched quite a bit and found its overall a "pretty solid gun".

Would this be a good choice ?
What else would you recommend
I would prefer either a 1911,sig or m9


If owners can share their experience and its pros and cons that would be great

I own one. I have no complaints. It's main selling point to me is comfort of the grip compared to a 1911, which I also own. It's also very easy to maintain due the to the ease with wich you can remove the slide, again compared to a 1911. It's compatibility with Tokyo Marui parts also makes it upgradable and repairable. And then there's the correct trades for realism. So really, just buy it.

the only issues with KJ sigs also affect all sigs, TM included.

front sight falls off
valve knocker breaks
2-piece mags suck

all the issues have already been addressed (loctite/epoxy the sight to the slide, shooters design valve knocker, KJ mags/TM e2 mags)

my main gripe is the trigger reset being really long, but the flipside of it is that there is zero overtravel in the trigger when you shoot (which is a rarity it seems). I'm just too lazy to track down a TM e2 trigger group.

overall: the KJ is essentially a TM with a MBK. it has very few issues because it's one of the designs TM essentially nailed. get one, if you don't like it, then whatever. it's not suuuuuuuper expensive.

There's at least a half dozen KJW P226's on my team... no issues with any of 'em yet. Get TM mags though, as KJW mags are shitty and will start leaking eventually.

But you can fix them with gasket maker, like any other mags.

It seems like you are set on the KJW P226 and I have to say go for it! Having a decocker is extremely fun to play with, and the finish on them wears reasonably well depending on the holster you use.

But if you plan to upgrade the crap out of it, you may want to take a look at the beloved 1911.

If grip size is important to you. I would make a generalization and say this.

Small hands - 1911 and sig
Medium hands 1911 and sig and maybe beretta
Large hands - Sig and beretta and 1911.

I have access to all three right now, and I do love the 1911 and sig grip. But I have medium hands and the beretta just feels too thick and unergonomic for my tastes.

Thank you for your input everyone so it seems there are very minor issues.

So I should always check the front sight screw.

Repairing gas leaks isn't the biggest deal its manageable.
I was wondering how many shots do get before refilling . From what I've seen people have said 2 magazines and a bit

The valve knocker I hope doesn't become an issue but it seems like its a readily available part and there should be plenty of tutorials and break downs online

I believe the grip size should be fine I was using the large back strap on my PX4. From what I heard though the sig is very comfy in the hand
