Okay so last night I went out and smashed my Echo ASR Piece Of Shit into a million pieces. God I am so glad that I am rid of that thing!!!

Now I got a brand new Tokyo Marui - VSR 10 that I want to turn into a kick ass sniper riffle. I want to upgrade it in stages so that I can see which parts make the biggest difference to the guns accuracy, for the least cost.

Here are a few parts that I have heard that people install on their upgraded sniper riffles.

- Shredder Concaved Hop Up Spacer
- PDI Barrel Spacers
- Firefly or other brands of Hop Up Bucking
- Complete new Hop Up assembly?
- PDI Precision Inner Barrel ($ Ouch, Ouch)
- Laylax Zero Trigger Assembly ($ Ouch!)
- Other? (suggestions are welcome!)

I would be interested to hear from anyone who has ugraded an airsoft gun before, to see which part or parts they feel would provide the biggest bang for their upgrading buck.

Thanks

First you need to make a choice between PDI and Laylax to avoid compatibility issues.

This is what I did to my TM VSR 10 G-Spec

PDI barrel spacer
PDI Vtrigger2
PDI Precision Palsonite Cylinder SET HD
PDI VSR 140 Spring
Prometheus 6.03 VSR 10 430mm barrel

I kept the stock hop up assembly and rubber (I trying to locate a firefly one, and if I cant I will must likely go for a nineball rubber)

I get a consistent 395 to 400 FPS with this setup.

The VSR hopup can't use a SCS without modification, because it has a "nub" built into the arm.

I initially used a few laylax parts (piston, spring spring guide zero trigger), but I slowly began shifting over to pdi and haven't looked back. I added the hopup unit recently, but haven't had any time to shoot it, so I don't know how the W-hold will hold up at this fps.

Here is what I have in there now:
Laylax Zero Trigger
Prometheus 509mm 6.03 (AEG)

PDI
Hopup Chamber w/ W-Hold
Raven Cylinder
Vacuum Piston
Spring Guide (make sure you get the right diameter for your spring
360% spring
M.R.B.
Receiver
Bull Barrel Base
Front Bull Barrel L
8.55mm barrel spacers

You'll probably see the greatest increase in accuracy from the barrel, barrel spacers, piston and cylinder head. The stock hopup is good. Everything else was for more power or for "cosmetic" purposes.

Here's the parts list for my laser rifle, total was about $600;

PDI precision cylinder set with VC piston (VC piston eliminates bolt push resistance, works like vented AEG piston)
PDI V-trigger
PDI 440fps spring
PDI barrel spacer x2
Firefly rubber
Laylax 6.03 430mm barrel
cheap $30 mil-dot 2x-6x scope
3x marui mags
stock marui hop chamber
Later on added ThunderCustom air brake for extra silent death making.

I love the VSR-10 style bucking and won't ever be upgrading to use inferior AEG rubbers
Also I agree the Laylax internals aren't nearly as nice as PDI, however their barrels (which are prometheus) are just fantastic. I've always found 6.03 to be an optimal bore diameter.

HAHA ok here is the answer to your question not the bull about a better rifle. I am the same guy who asked you about the stock.

Put in a ASP2 PDI hop up first, then you can use any AEG barrel buy what you like I went with an extended length Madbull. but hey if you have the cash buy a PDI 6.01 Next install the 45$ upgrade kit you can get it from Toronto airsoft instead of the $250 PDI upgrade. These will have the gun shooting just shy of 500FPS(our sniper rifle limit in Edmonton). I bought the last remaining ASP2 barrel spacers from Airsoftparts.ca not installed yet then the hopup rubber and bucking I am saving till I get it together and see what I like.

With just the upgrade kit (until i blew up my hop up, which is why this is the order) At 150 ft outside I am hitting a 12" at 200ft I am hitting 7 of 10 on man sized target before the new hopup and with a crappy scope (new one coming). As soon as the new parts arrive I will update.

Echo one has made a great rifle and if they end up making an upgraded trigger box (please note although most parts work form the ASP2 L96 layouts the trigger box is not the same.) it will be even better. I had a shootout with one of the guys I play with and he had his $1200 m24 and his $1500 maruzen L96 gas shooting 650fps(not gameable)

His m24 to my ASR were very similar in accuracy and for running around the bush mine was better handling. (I also have a fully upgraded TM m14 so I know running with a rifle style rifle can get tricky)

His L96 Kicked my ass but it was shooting way harder and using 43g BB's I was using 38's
Outside of the bi pod which echo 1 admited was a machining flaw in the rifle this thing is light weight durable and unique. All I ask is people need to remeber the VSR10 is a crappy out of the box rifle but with the right pieces and $1000 in parts it will decimate all. This is new to the market not many upgrades yet and a knock off of the APS2 but in my opinion a better rifle over all than the APS2.

That is my Half a cent as I have no sense.
