Army Boots?

are the sizes the same for army boots as they are for regular shoes or do they use a different sizing system?

If they're made in China, they're genrally a size smaller than what you would wear in a running shoe.

If they're made in the U.S you're good to go.

Please don't respond if you are not knowledgeable about the question being asked.

@show_stopper: Each manufacturer has some differences in sizing, just like any industry. Generally your shoe size is a good starting point, but unlike what the above poster wrote, it cannot be depended on to be taken as gospel. Especially when you are ordering online (which I have a feeling you are, otherwise you would't be asking this) you want to make sure that you are going to get something that fits you.

Just in desert boots, my Original SWAT boots are 10 1/2's while I have a set of Converse in 11, and previously I've worn a set of issue US boots that were 10 (all in "wide" or "EE" width). That's a good range for a single set of feet.

When it comes to Canadian issue boots, there is a different "metric" sizing system that uses the length and width of your foot to come up with the size.

So, as i meant previously. US boots are generally a size smaller than what your runners are listed as.

Avoid asian makes as they can turn your socks colours - i've heard orange.

Its really best to google some reviews on the make of the boots you're looking at purchasing.

This link may help you with some sizing for the wide/narrow type boots:

Every model boot fits a little different. I have 2 pairs of matterhorns, different styles, one is a US10 one is a US10.5 both fit my foot the same. Yet are differently sized.

my danners are more narrow fitting... I wear size 10 bates, but 9.5 belleville.

This is the issue with buying boots online. Be prepared to send them back to find the right fit.

In my boot-buying experience, Rothco seems to be pretty even with shoe size.

Granted, I've only ever bought two pairs of boots, but they've both been Rothco and they were both evenly-sized (14). As to other brands, I've no experience as both pairs I purchased (one tactical, one desert) have held up for six and four years, respectively. Great boots.
