anyways I'm absolutely stoked to get my Verification status which I already applied for. my question is how do I know I've been age verified apart from posting on the forums? do I get an e-mail or a PM or something? I'm honestly just curious and I did read the sticky but there was nothing on notifications apart from getting banned.

You don't need to post every day. Just check to see if you can look at the sub-forums currently listed as "private" or look at a post you've already made and see if the AV icon is there.

I just got mine today and it was extremely exhilarating!

You'll also be able to view all of the classified forums on the main sub-forum listing once you log in.

yea takes about a week, depending on the back log think i got mine in 3 or 4 days, basically what omnivorous said, if u can see the age verified forums (the ones that say need to be age verified to see...) you can see them if you arent age ver. the forum that is, but you cant see the postings inside unless your age ver. so just check back on hell this post and see if you got the banner under trader rating that says "age ver"
