Broxa hop up upgrade

Ok, i've got the broxa, and, while its quite good, i would still like to increase its range. Right now, ive got the hop up essentially off, just enough to hold the bb in the chamber. My question is, while i know the hop up on the broxa is aweful, i was wondering if it was the hop up mechanism, or just the hop up rubber that is affecting its performance? and if i change the rubber or the entire unit, would it increase the performance, or are there any other cheep upgrades that would help,( sorbo pad...etc)?

hop up rubber, get a systema or prometheus. And then wash it in hot water(people say cold is better but hot water actually gets the grease off easier). Air dry it, and then install it. Clean the barrel while your at it too.

Some people here might tell you to get guarder clear but they don't know what their talking about And I bet someone's going to come into this thread and write a long essay about their kick ass experience with guarder clear.

Thanks, and, i have tested and fiddled with the hop up, i'm using .2s. maybe after 40-50 feet, any consistency in the shots is gone. while MP5s are CQB weapons, 40-50 feet does seem a little short if you ask me. id be more than happy with 100-125 ft with decent accuracy.

I've read up on the broxa upgrades, and the general consensus seems to be that changing the hop up rubber will increase performance. I doubt that its the bb weight, since some shots fly straight, true and hard, hitting whatever I'm aiming at, while others (a large percentage, i'm afraid to say) just drop, curve insanely to the side or only fly 10-20 feet in a parabola.
all that with the hop up mostly off, which seems to be the best setting with that particular hop up.

So, what i'm basically asking is advice on whether or not changing the hop up rubber will achieve what i am aiming for. i think you answered that, maybe not...

but your advice is appreciated, thanks a lot

oh, and the prometheus or systema hop up rubbers are available at airsoftparts.ca, right?

P.S, have looked at mechbox.com, but they don't show any upgrades that have to do with the barrel assembly hop up etc, i'm afraid. did watch the disassembly video though but taking it apart doesn't seem to be too hard if i take my time

Actually an MP5 should be able to reach 100 feet effective range, just depends on your internals I remember my MP5 reached 100ft accruately no problem but it was a upgraded TM MP5 but I sold it long ago, but after fiddling with more guns I learned that

If you really want 100ft effective range, which is actually quite good as from when I play in forest games most engagements begin at 100 feet

1. FPS - If you have a low FPS such as below 300 FPS I found even on heavier 0.28g it won't reach far accurately. I found 330 FPS (0.2g) and higher will start to give you some good groupings

2. Tightbore Barrel - 6.03mm and 6.04mm I find worked quite well. Getting longer is better it improves the reach by a little bit but you have to have a good hop-up unit. For some reason when I had crappy hop up units the BBs would just fart out, which I am guessing there is not a good seal with a crappy hop up unit and hopup rubber

3. Hopup rubber - Mentioned above, Prometheus hop up rubber helped me get straighter shots

4. Air consistency - Upgrade the: Cylinder, Piston, Piston Head, Air nozzle, and Cylinder head.
Getting a better air seal and better internals can increase the ROF and have more consistent air output allowing for the BB flight path to be more predictable

Cheapest Way to get 100 feet
- Stronger spring
- Tightbore barrel
- new Hopup rubber

well, the broxa is shooting at around 380-400 fps with .2s, i dunno about a tightbore, ive read mixed opinions about em, and the hop up rubber seems to be consistently a culprit in reducing performance, so i will be getting a better one. another question, whats better, soft or hard rubber, or what are the advantages of both

Soft rubbers for lower FPS, Hard rubbers for higher FPS, I would probably drop is a softer spring, 400 is unnecessarily hot.

And yes, tight bores are good. Prothemus and systema both make great barrels, but if your on a budget, madbull V2 Black barrels are nice.

Also, i always recommend putting a sorbo pad in your mechbox, regardless of its use

Use these

http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...roducts_id=903

or

http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...roducts_id=899

they both perform about the same, I would personally get the systema. Remember to always wash it with dish detergent before use.

With systema, I got a STOCK JG MP5(~390FPS) to shoot out to around 180 feet ACCURATELY. It's measured distance, not exaggerated

EDIT: BBs also have alot to do with accuracy as well. It has to be GOOD brand BBs. Personally I like Metal Tech 0.25g the best(That's what I used to test the MP5 with), BB bastard is good too.

Did you replace the rubber or change the whole hop up unit.

Yeah, but I need help. I've been searching the forum to find out which hop up unit that fits the Broxa. (Newbie talking here)

The gun, from the upgrades iv done, has been 100% TM compatible. If you can find an MP5 tm Hop up unit, a metal one preferably, it should fit.. all I have done is put in a 6.04 mm tight bore that is about an inch and a half longer than the stock barrel, a gaurder rubber hop up and switched the stock spring for a madbull m100 spring. The spring will lower the fps but I have found that my gun shoots farther and more accurratly after I did this with. This is just what I have done and it works well for me.

Which tight bore brand and length that you would recommended? About the Hop Up unit, I read somewhere that the Broxa unit is not compatible with the MP5 TM. Your thought?

I don't recall the brand name or length to be honest.. it was a while ago when I put it in.. and as for the unit .. it is a POS... but like I said i found by just changing the rubber and the spring.. the gun works great.. and Im easily clearing 120 ft.. but as for the hup up unit itself your going to have to consult a gun doc and see what he says im not sure if it is TM compatible...
