@ Haakon:

This is what you want:

http://www.krylon.com/products/camou...on_technology/

It's pretty much the "standard" paint. Available everywhere and cheap too. I think you can get a can for something like $4.

You can usually get the regular semi gloss stuff anywhere but the camoflauge/ultra matte line is a bit harder to get (I know some army surplus stores have the camoflauge line but don't usually carry too much of it cause it's not their main business).

Really when I say Krylon I mean any general spray paint. Kind of like how a "Frisbee" isn't really a Frisbee unless it's made by "Frisbee" any other brands are technically supposed to be called "ultimate discs".

I don't think you'll need 1500 grit sand paper... Maybe to rough it up for the paint to adhere better...

Mask with masking tape and newspaper, not seran wrap
Yes!
roughing it up will make it adhere better just cause it has more surface, think of it as two peices of the puzzle fitting together instead of two peices side by side, and yeah, painters/masking tape w/ paper is fine

is there anything this guy doesn't know!!!!

Amen, Amos

ALSO!!
if you really want that "extra mile" in your finished job
try hanging it while painting it, if you lay it down, it will drip off to the bottom
it'll just be something that bothers you after a while, most-likely

A proper layer should NOT drip.

Correct, IF you're good you will get a proper layer. concidering you've done it once or twice. that's why I say you should try hanging it, it's more forgiving but, yeah, you're right.

not taking that away from you

Just becareful when you hang it, overspray can get on un-wanted things
(depends on what you paint it with)
