SAS CT CQB loadout
I put together this loadout from bits and pieces I've been able to research from various accounts, pictures, reports etc that have been published on the SAS in recent history. As well as throwing in the occasional personal touch to make it more effective for airsoft.
Fullbody overalls in Dark Blue (1970's pattern) Combat Boots S10 Respirator (Modified with balistic lenses) Filter (Kept for appearance gutted to ease breathing) Fullhead hood (NBC styled hood, designed to keep gas off your head or in our case BB's) Medium Weight Gloves (High dexterity, protection against knuckle busters) Ops wastecoat AKA LBV (Black South African style, for radio and grenade storage) 1950's era pistol belt (Metal clasp, every plastic clasp I've every used has been shot at and broken) Blackhawk Drop leg pistol holster in OD (Stolen from my outdoor kit) DPM waste pouch (Temporary Dump pouch solution) Weapons H&K MP5A5 w/ Tactical Light 3 Point Sling Sig Sauer P228 Optional Kit Radio with Headset Frag and Stun grenades (SWORD pattern) Questions/Comments? Geocities sucks but: http://www.geocities.com/darkalman/DSCF1939.JPG http://www.geocities.com/darkalman/DSCF1940.JPG http://www.geocities.com/darkalman/DSCF1941.JPG Shame Xtreme-tactics makes us wear those stupid helmets.

I believe that they recently purchased a bunch of MP7s.
Seems like we've been looking at the same pics ![]()

I wouldn't be surprised if they purchased a number of HK UMP's as well.
The smaller caliber MP7 is ideal for cutting through body armor but it has little stopping power. The 45 cal UMP makes an ideal support weapon.

Running .45ACP +P rounds? Yeah, definately a death-dealin' machine. However, I don't think they'll switch to a large caliber weapon like that, cause let's face it.. it's an expensive cartridge, and it requires bulky magazines. 4.7mm is cheap as dirt. |

Hard as fuck to control too, with a smaller magazine capacity. The Mp7 is sex.

The UMP .45 makes a good support weapon, the extra firepower is ideal for punching through thick walls if need be. But it's not their style to just go in blindly and start shooting up a building.

The lower velocity of the ump's .45 acp works very well for hostage situations when over penetration is unacceptable. Also the mag capacity is only 5 less than a standard mp5 mag, and it if you considder that with .45 you may only need two rounds, where as you may require three or more with 9mm, its reasonable. The only real downside is that all the polymers used to keep the weight low means that the gun will not soak up recoil as much. The integril rail is nice though.

Also, belt, they use black leather duty rig belts with custom made holsters. Both the belts and holsters are made by Paul Evans/Holsters International in the UK. The belt is their Model 47 gun belt, 2-1/4" wide, buckleless. The holster is their Mod 4A or Mod 10A tactical holster, the mod 10A is the swivel version of the 4A, the SAS have been known to use both. Holsters International is now owned by this company http://www.pwluk.com/index.php There are more photos and more info on SAS gear at militarymorons.com under 1st line rigs, and at specwargear. |

That's the trouble with replicating such a specialized unit. You can only go so far. I use the closest things I can find. Quote:
I had a chance to purchase a black set of UK body armor on ebay a while back without the plates, I should have grabbed it ![]()
