Magpul ACS STOCK REVIEW **56k death**
Magpul ACS stock Review
![]() I finally received my Magpul ACS stock otherwise known as the Adaptable Carbine Stock. The stock comes in three different colours: Dark Earth, Black, and OD. Upon ripping off the package, a dented and creased box stood before me. Frantically i opened it to find not only no padding, or any sort of bubble wrap but a completely solid and clean looking stock. The weight of the stock is heavier than the ctr but not as heavy as the UBR. ![]() The package included the stock, a small installation tool, and a manual for proper installation. ![]() The ACS differs from the UBR and CTR in many different ways. Like the UBR the ACS has a small compartment on the right side however it is not interchangable. The stock also sports a friction lock and to make up for the one sided compartment, it includes two removable rubber tabs, located on either side, which reveals a small cylinder shaped compartment that is capable of storing a couple AA batteries. As shown in the picture below ![]() In terms of comfort, the ACS is, in my opinion, much more comfortable compared to the CTR because of the angle cheek rest and unlike the UBR the ACS is a one piece design(obviously) which also adds to the comfort factor. As you have seen in the first photo, the ACS sports the typical rubber buttstock pad just like its other brothers. In the picture below i have installed the Advanced rubber butt plate. ![]() Upon installing the ACS stock onto my JG hk416, i found that the diameter for the buffer tube was a 1mm wider which pretty much disabled the friction lock function. But then again it is not needed because there is absolutely no wobble. However, with a little force the stock was successfully installed. I will later install this onto my AGM m4. ![]() If you are looking for a stock that serves as a storage compartment and has great comfort the ACS stock is definitely for you. Out of all the stocks from Magpul i would highly recommend this stock to any airsoft player. This is trully the best stock i have ever owned. Worth my $100. Hopefully you'll find this review informative enough to provide you enough encouragement to go and purchase one of these stocks for yourself. I apologize if the format is not good since this is one of my first detailed reviews. Thanks for reading! Last edited by spartan117; October 17th, 2009 at 14:11.. |

If you had a LIPO in the buffer tube previous to installing the stock, there should not be a difference.
P.S. Good information and quality pictures...good job on the review!

Here's a tip. The ACS stock itself is already pretty long so i never use it at the longest position. I usually use position 2 or 3 depending on the thickness of vest. So i'm planning on just drilling the small portion at the end of the buffer tube so it'll just slide all the way out and still have the 5th position. No need to use tools and such. I'll take pics when i dremel it out.

To use it as a battery stock you'd need to do a fair bit of dremeling. |
