Sorry to tell you but the Kenwood 370 is a UHF only transceiver.
Droc, you are getting the beep as an error message because you are trying to set the radio outside of its frequency range.
MM is able to get the weather because his is a dual-band rig. His oscillators are set up for both VHF and UHF.
