have already tried checking your contact swithces?

also, there's this part that is screwed on the gearbox just under the sector gear.... try checking that one out if it's loose or not.... the movement should just be to the fro... there shouldn't be any wobble of some sort.... while you're at it... also try checking your selector plates....
