Romanian AK47

Ok looks like Ive finaly built the Rom AK.

Ive hollowed out the stock to fit a large 8.4v battery. I really didnt like the proformance of the large stick batterys. Plus after helping mod Freedom Fighters G&P metal front end to fit one Ive decided its just not worth it. Im not fucking around with other batterys anymore, its large or nothing! Hollowing out the stock was a real pain. But managed to do it with just a chisel a dremel and some files. It was a really tight fit. I mean really tight! Because it was such a tight fit theres no room for a wire to run to the end of the stock. So you have to put the battery in with the wire and plug facing towards the gun. Then run the wire to a plug under the dust cover. This way you never have to take the battery out to charge it. You just take off the dust cover and plug the battery into the charger from there. A large 8.4v battery should be more than enough juice for a day of gaming. More than likely enough for several days.

I also sanded down the grip to make it look a bit different. It also lightened up the colour to match the colour of the wood better. It also helped make it rougher so its less likey for your hands to slip when they get sweaty.

Pictures dont do this gun any justice. You have to see it first hand to really apreciate how sweet this gun is. I guess my RPK is going to be put on hold for a while.

Maybe some time down the road Ill take pictures showing what I did to moddify the wood to fit on a TM AK and explain in detail what to do. If you have access to a wood shop it would be so much easier. With the tools I had it took me about 12 hours to mod the parts.

Parts
Romanian stock and forgrips
DTP metal body painted black
G&P metal front end

Parts I still need
AKM flashhider
Guarder scope mount
