Just to clear a few things up
G&P is mostly TM compatible. You're thinking of the G&G design that was released before TM and CA cloned.
The barrel window is cut the same for all AEGs. What is cut differently are the hop up retention slots on the sides.
On top is a barrel that's been cut for both standard AEGs and TM M14. The bottom one is a standard barrel.
