Cleaning Rod substitute/length ?
Ok, I must have searched half a dozen topics and read a shit load of posts. I did read a few mentions here and there that people can make custom cleaning rods as long as there were no sharp or pointy edges to damage the inside of the barrel. That's fine.
My biggest concern is that the TM MP5 RAS will be my first gun. I'm buying it from a friend that only used it a few times. Problem is, he doesn't have the cleaning rod that came with it.
I know that the rods usually come with some kind or marker to make sure you don't insert it too far down the barrel. Since I'll be finding something to make a custom cleaning rod, I was wondering; How far is too far? If anyone had a TM MP5 RAS out there with a cleaning rod, I'd be very greatful if you could tell me what the length is from rod end to the depth marker. If not, any pointers on how far NOT to go would be great.
I just don't wanna be the first guy to stick a custom cleaning rod in his AEG and say "DOH!". :smack: (even though I'm sure it's already been done! :-D )
