Edit, anyway, my FPS is not optimal in my rifle, and the hop-up is stock. I'll keep .25 in it until I gain more experience. For now, it won't matter.

Heavier in the pistols not only for the reasons you said but because gas guns act differently. In most cases a gas gun will increae in energy as the weight goes up (not fps but joules) because the gas will continue to be expeled untill the bb exits the barrel and because of that more gas will be used for heavier bbs on to of the the gas behind the bb (even if its the same ammount) will expand more to move the heavier round and thus impart more kenetic energy into the bb the a spring piston gun firing the same velocity.
Bottom line gas guns love heavy rounds (provided they have good enough hop up for it) i run 30's in my pistols too yes i gotts really crsnk up the hop up but my sub 400 fps m9 has about the same rsnge as my 400fps m4 does just the groupings are a lil bigger due to the short barrel and the blowback. However the pistol packs a bigger punch out at longer ranges
