I don't know where you hear that high FPS setups where a problem with the split mechbox...
I ran one at 450 fps for a while, never had issues. Once the rear body pin is in, it's not split nor splitable anymore.
Also remember that the Anti-reversal latch is proprietary, same for the trigger block and receivers. Obviously the mechbox shell too.
Some parts will need fitting if you want to change them. Read here pistol grips and buffer tubes. All the necessary modifications are easy to find on the web.
Some ICS rifles have metric upper receiver threads (TM compatible front). Others have imperial threads (G&P/real-steel/WE compatible).
If they are the same price, get the ICS. It will outperform from the box and outlast on the long run.
