by signing up to a 24 hour game you agree to do so.
No one expects anyone to be 100% on for the whole game, you take rests, you eat, drink, rest... but you stay in the game while you do it.
I personally know lots of guys who had an absolute miserable time at their first few 24 hour ops.. they were cold, hungry and tired.. but they did it and it got easier every one they did.
Now these same guys are running the show at a lot of games

I'm a bit ashamed, but not really, to say that at every extended game I find myself saying, "f8ck...I could just go lie down now and let the other guys do it". Especially around the 20hr mark. But after a coffee, a piss and more than a few deep breaths...if it's in you, you can dig deep and continue on. Basically I look at it as playing another game the next day after staying up late
...and yeah, catching 2-4hrs of sleep is clutch

In games during 48-72h, you can't be active all the time and focus on game during nighttime will be less.
I can see in Swedish milsims that there is a fight for kudos among the players who don't have NVG to hunt down NVG-players early in the morning when they are in their sleepingbags after a long night playing ninja.

Right on. Most run 30-ish hours when you count the setup/briefing and tear down/packup/chitchat. Plus the travel time (around here that's usually 2-2.5hrs). Plus the at-home pack/prep...and stow-away time. I have a feeling that a lot of wanna-be milsim'ers don't have the wherewithal to sort themselves out for that long in one continuous stretch.
Some numbnuts sign up for milsims without even knowing where the field is...only to find out they can't take the bus there
