when i have 'leaky' mags i put them in a plastic bag, give them a good spray of silicone (and some extra for 'good luck') tie up the bag (to keep in that silicone-goodness) and leave be for a few days, that usually gives them a good coating without the 'dipping' that i used to give them..

also, use the DIY-gasket silicone to seal the major loss-routes..

i have WA SV magazines and they have one point that usually pisses gas if they're not babied but after a good treatment with the gasket kit they're better then new.

EDIT: Also, +1 on the 'never leave your magazines empty'
