Hop up retention block in D-boys AK74-UN
A few weeks back I purchased 2 Kalash/D-Boys RK-01Ss from a retailer on this site. Absolutely beautiful guns and My team mate and I are enjoying the "Russian fear" we have put into our opponents. A friend of mine was so impressed that he bought a similar gun from another retailer on this site. I say "similar" because it is not the latest version Kalash/D-Boys rather a 2nd generation D-Boys AK74UN. It was sold as "brand new" just not with original packaging...which would be fine if that was the case.
He brought it to me to have a look at...
It has wooden front handgaurds, plastic stock release button, pot metal front sight, optics mount, and charging handle/fake bolt. The gearbox has nylon bushings (not sure if 6mm or 7mm, yet to measure). So far, so good, jut an older version of the gun, nothing too bad. This is where it gets worse...
The hop-up feeding tube is chewed up, the retention block for the hop up chamber (the L shaped black plastic part that goes inside the receiver) is missing, as is the spring that holds the hop up back a bit, the body pin that holds the front end onto the receiver is dinged up (suggesting that it has been removed more than once or twice) and the stock catch on the left side and the receiver by the selector switch are worn to silver which indicates a fair bit of usage, not just testing. He was able to hold the hop up back ang get a mag in but the hop up does not function even if fully turned up (probably the bucking missing). Extremely dissapointing given the price he paid.
I am taking photos for him to present to the site admins should he fail to be able to reconcile this and will take the barrel and hop up out to see if the bucking is missing and assess the hop up sleeve.
I think he should ask for his money back and return the AEG. The seller obviously misrepresented the item in question. Unlikely as we all know how these things can go sometimes... Failing that I want to be able to get the parts required to get this AEG working the way it should. Most of what I would need (new hop up chamber, sleeve, and bucking) are readily available. What is not so available (at least not that I am aware of) is the block that holds the hop up back in place, the L shaped plastic block.
Does anyone know where I can get this necessary part? Thank you.
