TM Mk23 mag issue.

Ok first things first, this magazine has already had the epoxy mod done to it to it can accept green gas/propane. This is a different issue.

I was charging the magazine today for a little plinking, using some propane and an AI adapter. So I pressed the adapter to the ...I really don't know what the part is called, but where you insert the gas adapter to charge the magazine with gas. Anyway, go to charge it and right away I hear a pssssssshhh and can feel the propane coming back out of where I just charged it, (while charging it)(See diagram). But whatever gas manages to get in there (usually a very small amount) stays in there with no issues. It's just whenever I try to charge it, the gas just doesn't seem to go in. To sum it up, I guess the issue is getting the gas INTO the mag.

It's really rough I know...
The four arrows at the tip of the adapter represent the gas flow.

it's TM mag isn't it?

That's exactly what its supposed to do. TM mags are not silent fill type, they leak some gas while being filled.

To tell if it's full or not, the mag will start spewing small amount of liquid when it's full(While you are filling the gas). It will sound slightly different, but it's very easy to tell.

Hope that helps

Thank you, I'll give this a try tomorrow and post results.

Well tried it, and was charging it for a good 30 to 45 seconds, no liquid, just the constant hissing.

Do you have a full tank of propane?

Seb1990 May 14th, 2009 16:39

No. :X

Styrak May 14th, 2009 16:55

That might be the problem. Is it close to empty? Because if so it won't work. There won't be enough pressure in the propane bottle.

Hm, ok thanks for the tip. I'll pick up a new one and try that.

The liquid that it spews out is in VERY small amount. It's nearly impossible to see it but it sounds different. Just keep paying attention to the sound.

Oh ya, and not-so-full-propane tanks won't have enough pressure to completely fill up the magazine =)

if its a plastic propane adapter it might be cracked!, had this happen to me with a duster adaper, there was a ultra fine crack and all the gas was escaping from there! (normal tm bags always emit a *fshhhhh* when filling but it was really spilling liquid propane everywhere, to fix it i simply cutted the nozzle where it was cracked and its working again!
