Cyma CM030 Famas Motor Upgrade
 

Hi,

I have a cyma cm030, and I would like to get some more torque out of the motor, possibly speed it up.

Does anyone know a motor I can swap into this mini gearbox?

Would a eg560 Famas motor work? Would that be better or worse than the stock motor that's in it?

Considering how the regular TM eg560 is a kind of weak motor from the start I doubt it will be much better. As said above your probably best off just upgrading to a large battery.

I think we might have a miscommunication.

My cm030 is the glock g18c aep. I just can't see fitting a long type motor in there. The gearbox is mega tiny and motor is mega tiny as well.

That's why I was looking at the FAMAS motor, because it ran off 7.2v and that's the same as the AEP runs off, not to mention it's a little smaller than a standard motor if I'm not mistaken. A bigger battery is pretty much out of the question simply because there is nowhere to put one.

Does anyone know of a SMG or AEP upgrade motor?

Heres is your biggest help its based on the TM Glock 18 AEP but the CM030 is a clone of the TM so you can actually email the person who made the article and I think he still has his own shop in which you can buy the parts needed to super upgrade it.

He recorded the distance can reach 230 feet though I am unsure that is true perhaps it was 130 feet but talk to the guy from this link

Let me know I would like to see, CM030 cloned the TM G18 AEP so you have about 2/3 chance of getting to be like that

Because I just put together a FAMAS... It has the original EG560 in there and it's getting 17.85 BB's per second...

I think you are all set Ox, Grant Woo should be the best expert on that gun type

I asked pretty much the same question you did but I think Grant answers it best just remember that you might have to put in a lot of money to get to perform like that video since the CYMA gears are not that good.

FYI, a AEG motor is not compatible with an AEP.

That video is insane.

I have a nine ball kit coming with metal bushings, piston cylinder, spring guide and spring, but need to find the dimensions of that EG560 to see if I can modify the gearbox to slide that puppy in there.

I inherited a second bone yard pistol, cracked the gearbox and to my surprise it had a set of hardened steel gears in it, so we should be OK for gearset reliability.

I'll document the operation and post if it becomes successful enough. If it's just a big waste of my time and money, I'll embarrasingly keep that private, and never speak of it again.

Actually you should still document your failure just to show others if something is not worthwhile, as I think Grant Woo said that he found 2/3 the time there was a "slight" increase in performance in the CM030 but compared to the TM 18c it was not as good. But since you say you have better gears then you should be okay.

Also again you don't need a stronger motor for that cm030 even if it fits or not, even that china brand motor in there is fine. You can try procuring the TM AEP motor though that is usually a hard find on its own as its usually not stocked or that it comes together with a MP7 Gearbox which can cost upwards of $100+

Anyway I think you are pretty much set, lucky you with the boneyard parts. All you need is to figure out the wiring of the battery

If you can figure the wiring properly you can hook up a 9.6v and if you put in those steel gears then your gun should be okay.

The motor should be decent for now, if anything you don't need a new motor but spend it on getting that battery. Perhaps if I can find another CM030 I'll take on the project after exams.

Oh one last thing DO NOT GET THE CYMA HI-CAP mag as much as you think you are saving money, it is complete crap because you are gambling 50/50 chance that it actually works, mine could not even hold BBs inside of it

End of story.

Any battery above the 7.2v will be great although some have said that the magazine was not able to keep up with the higher ROF, or maybe thats because they were using the Cyma mags.

Though I am unsure with the Lipo as a 9.6v on a small gearbox seems pretty tough on it, with a Lipo now that may be pushing it. Unless someone has already tried it on a Lipo, that would be interesting to see
