its all a matter of preferance really what your comfortable using

you dont need a huge scope for airsoft 4x seems to be favored from some of the posts

red dots are a given aimpoints and eotechs seem to be popular

you dont need to deck out your ris with everything plus the kitchen sink just use what you like really

i dont think there is a #1 best thing as its all a matter of opinion

no 1: flashlight
no 2: red dot or scope

thats it!

Aimpoint or low magnification optic on top, depending on the game (indoor/outdoor).

Forward vertical grip most of the time, because it's comfy.

I have a bipod that doesn't get used terribly often, but it still gets use every once in a blue moon on my SR15.

If I get anything else for my ARs, it would be a flashlight (either an M910 or in a PEQ2 unit) for CQB, but I don't find it particularly necessary.

I had an M203, but it saw even less use than my bipod so I traded it. It also looks ugly as hell on a CASV.

What's best really depends on the user and on the situation it will be used in.

Really, nothing is necessary. A foregrip is nice to have, as it's comfortable to hold the weapon with a grip. But it's not necessary. Iron sights are all that's absolutely required for outdoor daytime games. A red dot or 4x or less optic will be useful for outdoor games.

A red dot will be useful for indoor cqb games. If you play night games or indoors, a flashlight may be useful. Lasers can be useful, but some places won't allow them due to potential eye damage.

And if you like the tacticool look, then whatever you want to attach is up to you. Just remember that you're the one that has to carry that weight around with you when gaming the gun.

Personally, I tend to take the minimalist approach. My C8 has a flip-up backup sight, and an EOTech 552 replica. My M15A4 rifle has an 3.4x Elcan M145 replica. My Type 56 and MP5 are bare. My only gun with full rails, my HK416, has a vertical foregrip and an 3.4x EOTech 552 replica. The rest of the rails are covered. It's no über-tacticool gun, but looks good and will serve its purpose well. The only other accessory I could want to add would be a flashlight if I was playing in low-light conditions. Otherwise, this minimalist approach works best for me.

I really like those rail covers. Those the same ones from eHobby?

Crunchmeister March 31st, 2008 10:29

I bought them from qlong in the B&S section. Don't know where he got them. I know ebaybanned.com have them. (http://ebaybanned.com/product_info.php?products_id=284)

I like how the individual pieces interlock making the layout completely customizable to whatever accessories you have on the rail, which still covering the bare areas.

And they look pretty badass too.

lol I have one of those cheesy blue tac lights that came with a Well M4 RIS springer I bought a couple of years ago. I had it installed on my 416 for a bit just to try it out. It actually works surprisingly well and is fairly bright, although due to the cheap plastic, it would probably break easily if bumped or hit with a BB.

After trying to find the picture of the handgun with a million things put onto its rails, i give up.

But KISS seems to dominate for rail accessories.

Unless your a rail whore. Or a zombie killer.
