Supercell ASC7 Claymore problem

If there is anyone out there with some knowledge of the Supercell ASC7 claymore, I could use some help.

I recently acquired one for pretty cheap. The mine fires fine with a tripwire. The wired detonator does not work. I know that the trigger line is delivering power. It looks like the trigger on the claymore is a piece of wire, which I am assuming heats up and contracts to trigger the mine. Mine is not triggering when the detonator is hit.

So my questions are as follows;
1> Anyone have any other ideas?
2> Does anyone know what the wire would be?
3> Any way of fixing this or should I just leave it as a tripwire detonation?
4> If the wired detonator can't work, is there anyway of making it into a wireless detonation?

Thanks for the help in advance.

You are correct about the motor wire, it contracts when electrical current is applied.

If the power is getting to the claymore then chances are either the motor wire is broken or it might have loosened enough so that it no longer is able to pull the trigger. If the later is the case just open it up and wrap it a bit more tightly around the screw that connects it to the trigger.

If you need new motor wires just email the guys at supercell, they sent me 2 free wires when I broke one of mine.

why?

Why to they refer to this wire as a motor? I don't see anything that resembles a motor.

a motor is a device that creates motion
although not properly labelled, it is technically correct
