Motor replacement/upgrade
 
Hey guys,
I'm looking to replace my motor and I came up across two that I am interested, but I need some advice. I have ICS AK-74M large batery (9.6v 2200 mAh), another one 9.6v 4200 mAh on the way. v3 gearbox and M120 spring. I heard that systema motors are good and I found two that I like - systema magnum and systema turbo.
So, here is my questions:
Whats the difference between them?
And which should I go with?
Also, I found that there is 3 different length - long, medium and short. I believe I have short one (motor I mean :D ) but I am not sure. How could I check it?
Any help and advice would be appreciated.

Magnum is a high torque option
Turbo is a high rate of fire option.

Go for the one you think you'd want more performance in that area, although, IMO, both of those options are at extreme ends and unless you're cranking a heavy spring or looking for crazy rate of fire, there are other options that meet in the middle.

You may want to consider the Eagle Force Hummer 1300 instead.

Keep in mind that a high rate of fire motor will draw more battery power due to the reduced torque.

And yes, AK47 is short motor length

mind you, those are for the older versions.

Having both the SystemA super-torque and hi-speed, I highly recommend them if you have any upgrades and/or are looking for a better semi-response time/bullet hose.

I'm looking at the Systema turbo for VFC416D with my 9.6v 4200 mAh 35 amp battery as well. My question is will the standard gear box nuke it self even though its upgraded?

As far as I understand it - it depends how much it is upgraded. I think you will need high speed gears (if you getting turbo) and so on. Also, if you are looking to increase rof than you will need a better battery, although I have no idea where you are going to fit it :p

You don't "need" high speed gears to go with a turbo motor.

Those batteries also look more than sufficient to support a turbo motor.

The stock VFC gearbox's velocity falls within the recommended limits for a Turbo motor on standard/genuine gearset ratios.
