Opinion on a sale

Looking to pick up my first gun. My friend offered to sell me a TM Hi CAPA 5.1 with flashlight + extra battery plus a new clip for about $230 CAD. What do you guys think? Condition is 9/10. Pic below:

SMOKIN!!

highcontrast March 30th, 2006 02:42

haha. So is this a good deal or not?

surebet March 30th, 2006 02:42

As long as the gun is in Canada, I'd take the deal.

highcontrast March 30th, 2006 02:46

Yeah in Canada, he's actually a friend.

You should ask about how many rounds the gun has gone through approx. And have you tried the gun?

I would check if he's attached the Rail on the Hi-capa's frame properly

I would think about saving cash for an AEG. Even if this appears to be a good deal, a handgun as a first gun is not the best choice.
You get outranged by most anyone else.

Well a GBB isn't a bad choice for a first airsoft firearm if you plan on playing CQB mostly. My first weapon was a KJW M9 because i got into the sport just as the season ended... i later picked up a TM M4 new type (like 4 weeks ago) but still perfer the M9 at the indoor place.

But back to the point. If you are looking to play outdoor mostly... save your money and get an AEG. If indoor is more your thing then get the gun..its a very good deal (assuming nothing is wrong with the gun).

It's a good deal, but buy a Glock instead :)

That's nice Grey, but he asked if that was a good deal, not what he should get first. I know lots of people who had coin for both, or not quite enough for both and got a pistol before their AEG. It's fine, as stated, if it's a small field, CQB, or if you don't mind waiting, and just want to basement plink in the mean time.

Looks like a sweet deal man. Like everyone else said too, check it over, ask about how many rounds've been put through it, see if he'll let you try it first... things like that. I know it's a friend, but just remember deals aren't always if there's something wrong with it.

Now a days, you can get one of those UTG MP5 for less than a gbb.

yanhchan March 30th, 2006 16:23

True but theres something awsome about a pistol....

^Hyperion^ March 30th, 2006 16:31

yeah , looks nice but remember : its not a clip but a magazine ( i wonder why nobody told him before ...)

firemachine69 March 30th, 2006 18:11

When I played at PB Nation, I found my Hi-Capa MUCH easier to handle then my MP5... I'd hate to have been one of the guys with M16's!
