Hop-Up and accuracy
 

okay, here we go. I am obviously a noob to upgrading and internals, I understand how the majority of parts work, but I don't know how to upgrade my hop up system iv seen new buckings and stuff like that on retail websites but not sure what would be good for me. I posted a thread a little while back about inners and there was a lot about improving accuracy at the hop-up. I run a stock classic army scar and want to know what bucking to get what would improve my accuracy. sorry for the noob questions and i'm sure there are answers to my questions somewhere on this thread but I could not find.

Rhop or flat hop on a prometheus 6.03 or PDI 6.05 barrel

A flat hop is basically a hop rubber that does NOT have a bump that would normally go in the hop window of the inner barrel. It is a smooth rubber and paired usually with a hop nub that has a flat surface that pushes the hop rubber into the inner barrel.
An r hop is similar, but with an rhop you do still use the flat rubber, but you have a piece of material permanently fixed over the hop window that gets pushed into the path of the bb (basically a dumbed down piece of surgical tubing or something along those lines)

I personally swear by a bridge hop myself. Tried it out not too long ago actually and have never gone back. A bridge hop is you still use the flat rubber, but you use a different type of nub (I use modify soft grey rubbers with promy bridge nubs myself, available from airsoftparts.ca for around 35$)

PDI W Hold for easy install.

Bridge or flat nub for 15 minutes more work.

Rhop for best results and most cost.

All that said, borrow a chronograph and make sure your shot to shot consistency is within 3 FPS. All else is moot if you don't have consistency.

1) Range has very little to do with the barrel, and almost everything to do with BB weight and hopup
2) Tell them to come back when they're getting 300ft with an M120 lol
3) Accuracy also is mainly BB weight and hopup
4) What's the incentive to buy this barrel instead of an already super high quality prometheus barrel?

Bridge hops and flat hops take 30 second longer to install than a PDI, and you don't lose the 30 FPS the PDI drops you by.

R-Hop gives marginally better results than bridge hop, and will either be the most expensive or the cheapest hop up upgrade, depending on how you go about it. If you buy a Z Kit and M Nub and then have someone else install it, you'll pay close to $100. If you cut your own patches and make your own nubs, it's the cheapest hop up upgrade.

250 feet with a M120? Dude... You should be able to get 250 feet with a M90... My 340 FPS gun can shoot a shitty .2g bb 250 feet... Yes I've done it indoors and actually surprised myself. I can't believe companies still make gimmicky claims like that, and that people actually believe that garbage.

Not so surprising since my pistol does 160ft dead accurately with .32s and it's firing at the equivalent of 290 on .20s lol

I'm still trying to get my pistol to shoot 100' dead accurately. lol

200' isn't a huge success in today's airsoft world, but rather the minimal benchmark. You should be able to hit a man sized target at 200' minimum if you want to compete. Most guns won't do more than 200' - 250' no matter what you do to them. There are a few I've seen reach out over 300', and that's measured distance, but very few. 200' isn't hard to hit though. Also remember you're sending a spinning 6mm ball down range within a certain FPS window, so the physics have their limits, and I'll bet our modern airsoft technology is getting close to topping them out.

Anyways, go with a good R-hop, you'll be glad you did. Make sure it works well with your barrel and that your barrel is of quality. From there work backwards as needed. Increase spring strength a little if you want a heavier round or you want your rounds to arrive in a timely fashion. Air nozzle to promote better seal. Get your gun a tune up, grease, etc.

Flat or bridge are no more work. The modify flat comes with a smooth bucking and the prommy flat and bridge do not but prommy sells a smooth rubber as well.(i find the promy to work beter than the modify but the modify is way cheaper And easily available local, i often just use the modify rubber with the prommy bridge)

The Modify sleeve is off-spec and the nub that it comes with is also too narrow in width...

Only guns i had issues fitting the modify rubber in was vfc's (all rubbers i find a little big, or the chamber too tight) the nub may be a little narrow (never measured) but that would explain why the promy bridge or flat nub work beter than the modify lol
even out of spec the modify is loads beter than any stock hop, but i still would suggest the prommy, tho the rubbers have been hard to find even in japan and china
