What will be the next big Airsoft innovation?

In the last year there have been some seriously cool and much needed innovations in the Airsoft and milsim world. I'm really excited and happy with the ics launch-able tag grenade and the Tokyo marui gas m870 pump action shotgun. Now with being said, I'm curious to see what people here on ASC think that the Airsoft companies could/should make or engineer to bring Airsoft and milsim to the next level. I'll start by saying that if Tokyo marui came out with a line of semi and or full auto multi-shot shotguns that I would be all over it.
AA-12 shotgun? Spas-12? Saiga-12? M3 super90? It could work for quite a few different shotgun models. Also I'm interested To see if the B.L tech gun sound simulator would work or be effective or accepted. Anyways....let's here your thoughts or ideas. :)

Something that isn't a goddamned M4.

Amen.

Electrically heated gbbr mags powered by a micro radioisotope thermoelectric generator

YA!!

I agree Uber board of Armalites!!

Not even the magnetic blowback aeg from Real sword?
*if they ever can get it working* :-)

I like the electrically heated mags idea, to hold the mag at a steady temp to reduce cool down. Would be interesting if it would fit in a full size m16 stock, and have the entire gas reservoir in there, then you can use any standard AEG magazine. Food for thought.

Just thought of something else. Use thee above idea, but also engineer it so that there is a tiny spark plug type of deal that is hidden in your flash hider, wires run back to your hand guard to a large battery. When your firing and the propane is exiting the gun it is lite to simulate the muzzle flash.
Benefits- 1.) No leaky mags to deal with.
2.) No cool down to contend with.
3.) Reliable blowback function with simulated muzzle flash.
I'd say that would change the milsim world a bit.

If memory serves there was a guy who did something similar and his Gbbr exploded in his hands

j_march July 13th, 2014 17:56

Hmmm that would be bad. Remember where it happened?

Jimski July 13th, 2014 18:06

there's a paintball maker taht's going into airsoft, I forget its name, that might yield results.
On the other side of the spectrum batteries are becoming better, so an electrical solution is also possible and very reliable.

What about a reliable ans safe way to use propane/butane explosion as source of energy to propel the BB instead of relying on gas expansion

Gas efficiency would go through the roof and it probably be (I think) a solution to cool down and fps variance

There are butane nail guns that works just like this. Shouldn't be to hard to adapt the system to an Airsoft platform
(I am almost tempted on getting one of those nail guns and give it a try myself :P)

Jimski: you refer to tippman probably

Yes but the problem would be instead of running around with a merzip merzip aeg, or a pew pew gbb, you will be running around with a WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Bang WIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Very interesting piece of technology.

I wanna see twin gatling guns powered by a car engine.
