Question about EGLM's?

A friend of mine was looking for a EGLM for his D-Boys scar. He was looking at a VFH EGLM.

But well looking up reviews about it, I found a Youtube review were in the comments he claimed that the VFH EGLM will not fit a D-Boys SCAR. Is this true? I have been struggleing to find anything eals on this topic. Is it even possible to modify it to fit the D-Boys SCAR?

Is their another brand on EGLM that will fit the D-Boys SCAR that he should be looking into?

from what i know The Dboys SCAR is a clone of the VFC one so the VFC EGLM is supposedly able to fit however obviously Quality Control and size and whatnot comes into play... no idea. but yeah its VFC not VFH

I did a goolge search and came up with this answer for you not sure if its what u wanna hear but it does answer your question me thinks.
Below is a cut n paste of the answer and a link to the thread.
Good luck!
VFC is Vega Force Company me thinks, prety sure at least but ya lotta short forms like KJW or KJ Works is Kwan Ju Works, i think or something along those lines and there are a bunch more.

The VFC EGLM fits right up to my WETECH GBB SCAR, and it fits my DBoys SCAR as well, but you need to remove 1mm of ABS material at the front of the EGLM's rail. The nice thing about the VFC is it comes with both a light and heavy trigger assembly, so if the distance to the magwell is off on the light you can try the heavy.

Luckily I have a dremal tool already, so I would be able to do that for my friend. I'll let him know, thanks!

ya no worries seems like it should be an easy mod if the person there was right. I know i read someplace else about the star one being like 10mm too long in the rail, or somethin like that. So i bet even that could be fixed to fit u would just have some rail sticking out in front of the launcher, i think i also read that the dboys is a vfv clone so that would be y its only off by a lil bit, again tho i was just skimming through stuff so i could have it all mixed up lol but the person i quoated seems to have tested it out so its likely a reliable answer.
not sure if your friend has a scar L or H or even if dboys makes both or if that even makes a difference so u may want to dbl check on that but otherwise it seems like that is the option.

Well looking up the take down instructions for the Dboys Scar, I noticed that apparently it takes down the same way as the Classic Army SCAR, not the VFC SCAR. Are you sure it's not a Classic Army Clone?

I also know it's a Scar-L. =)

He started at about the same time as me, and I've started grasping how to work on these guns and stuff. So I've been helping him out.

u r correct a clone of the CA i just re googled and seen that, either way the guy in the thread i linked says itll fit, most of the other stuff i find isnt english or isnt about fitting a launcher on a dboys, but if u have a dremmle and are handy i think u can fit it, if its just a mm to remove thats great and worst case u have to open it up all the way at the front and will have some rail showwing and even worse case, im sure u can resell the launcher easy.

based on this u may wanna open up the gear box for your buddy if its something u can do and if u have shims and lube and such, it is supposedly nice just needs some tlc to help it make the long haul

I gave him the heads up.

I personally have been using a CYMA AK, so I'm going to get him to order the correct sized Shims and do that for him.
=)

Thanks. Hopefully I might eventually get good enough at doing stuff like this as to start calling my self a Airsoft smith. lol
