M4 Mag Wont Feed
(Underage yes i know, but until i can goto games, im just shooting targets, and keeping it away from the public eye)
Alrighty so, I own a M4 Panther Arms Carbine, the mag that came with it broke, (i droped somthing on it its a high cap) so I found a site called airsoft depot, and ordered a metal M4 Mid-cap mag. So I loaded it up with 15 BB's(.20g) and fired at my sticky target, only one BB got fired, and the rest stayed, I tryed pushing it up more, holding it upside down, but to no avail. But when I pull the mag out of the rifle, about 5 BB's fall out onto my lap. pictures upon request if needed. If you could help that would be great -Greg |
You have a midcap. These are supposed to have about 130rnds in them.
Most of the time, they also have a weak spring. Full the mag with BBs and re-check. Also don't use the BBs that come with the gun, they are crap. Use good quality BBs (Matrix or other "home brand" are not good. Go for BBBastards, KXC Perfect or MetalTech.) |
Im using BBbastard .20g, and ive filled the mag(only holds 68)tryed again and still no luck.

I was gonna ask what BB's you are using, cause if you are using cheap walmart bb's they tend to have a powdery coating on them and feed like crap (even in the walmart springers they are intended for)

sometimes the mag detent that holds the bb back doesn't get pushed in far enough by the hop up chamber. What I do is file down that detent just a bit for the chamber to push it farther in. Give that a try.
P.S. don't over do it or the detent won't hold back the bbs and you'll have bbs flying out while loading. Take off just a hair at a time and test. |

bbs falling out when you remove the mag is normal. If it's not the detent, you should look into the hop up chamber and see if there is something wrong with the bucking. There are videos on youtube on how to take your hop up chamber out and take everything apart. If it still doesn't work, I suggest you take the gun to a gundoc or someone that knows internals.

i have to agree with HKGhost. In my opinion it sounds as if you have a jam in your hop up that is dis-allowing the BBs' to even make it to the proper firing position (situated between nozzle {part of your gear box} and the nub/ rubber {part of your hop up}) either that or it is possible that you damaged the hop up.
